CASE-Kyrgyzstan was founded by the Center for Social and Economic Research (CASE, Poland). The goal of CASE-Kyrgyzstan is to assist in the social and economic development of the Kyrgyz Republic through research, training, and advisory activities. CASE-Kyrgyzstan concentrates its advisory activities on technical assistance to the Administration of the President, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Agriculture, and other governmental agencies. One essential aspect of this assistance is the quantification of the impact of different policy proposals; statistical analyses of the economic, social, and budgetary situation; and economic forecasting. CASE-Kyrgyzstan is involved in providing training programs in microeconomics, macroeconomics, public finance, econometrics, and information technologies to government officials from different ministries and agencies. CASE-Kyrgyzstan is active in research covering a broad spectrum of topics, including macroeconomic forecasting; problems in fiscal, monetary, and social policy; agricultural economics; foreign trade; institutional changes and privatization; and the investment climate.
