The mission of IVO is to analyze social, political, economic, foreign policy, legal and cultural issues of public interest; to conduct research on public policies and their consequences; to publish and disseminate widely the institute's findings; to make practical recommendations for improved government policy; to study, document and help to promote Slovakia's transition to a free, democratic and open society; to stimulate public debate on important issues through lectures, seminars, workshops and roundtable discussions; and to promote the active involvement of informed citizens in public life.

FAHF, founded by a group of liberally oriented Slovak economists, has as its core mission the establishment of a tradition of liberal thinking in Slovakia. From this liberal tradition, the foundation seeks to offer practical reform proposals for market solutions to economic and social problems; widen and propagate classical liberal ideas in the reform process throughout Slovakia; provide a platform for the exchange of opinions of experts and the broader public; and further develop basic liberal ideas and values. The fundamental ideas presented by FAHF are those of freedom, free choice and responsibility for individuals, a market economy, minimal government intervention, reduced taxation, enforcement of contractual obligations and agreements, and securing the inalienable rights of every individual to their own lives, liberty, and property.

CAS UE is an integral part of the University of Economics in Bratislava, operating as an educational, scientific, counseling, consulting, information, and expert scientific and research body, orientated towards lifelong learning. CAS UE undertakes about 30 courses with 1,500 participants each year, and by the end of 2002 approximately 19,000 students/trainees graduated from its courses. Continuing education and training for adults is provided in all areas of economics and management, enabling participants to develop their abilities, from general knowledge to specific topics. CAS UE taps the reservoir of knowledge and accumulated experience of university faculty staff as well as practitioners, often UE alumni, offering a wide portfolio of educational and training activities, ranging from single subjects to multiple disciplines. Additionally, CAS UE has been involved in several national and international research projects, such as the ALPINE project: Increasing Education in European Universities. Its central aim is to improve and deepen knowledge in the fields of advanced marketing, economics, and managerial education.

CED is a nonprofit organization specializing in economic research; it focuses on supporting long-term economic development as the prerequisite for sustainable growth in the quality of life in Slovakia. In addition to researching economic issues, the center organizes seminars and publishes articles in the daily press, economic newspapers and business journals to advance its objectives. It supports a more transparent economic process and the integration of Slovakia into international economic and political organizations. The future growth of the Slovak Republic requires transparent processes in business, government and society. CED promotes these ideas and fosters mutual understanding between Slovakia and other countries. The center's researchers cooperate with renowned international economic institutions in joint research ventures and work with domestic and foreign nonprofit organizations and sponsors throughout the world.
