- Create opportunities for the formulation of rational, coherent foreign and defence poilicies to ensure Mongolia's security;

- Undertake research into the trends and major factors which affect the maintainance of Mongolia's independence and security;

- Cooperate with other similar organizations and institutions, both in Mongolia and abroad in promoting the study of peace and international security affairs;

- Promote public awareness and understanding of individuals interested in strategic and peace studies;

- The Institute aims to create opportunities for policy and issue related discussion for the formulation and conduct of security policy.
